Bound and Determined
The bond of marriage
frees when
your heart’s desire
is to be permanently attached,
To love
To depend on
To respect
To support
To cherishTo be friends and lovers.
But when your spouse
loses touch with reality,
and you feel widowed
though your spouse is still alive,
and then repeatedly widowed
with every episode,
the marriage vow
truly becomes a bond.
The bond restrains
until healing begins
and freedom returns.
