61/100 Thanksgiving Poem

Lord Thank You For…

My husband of thirty –eight years
My daughter who looks like me
My son, tall and strong
The two who enrich my life as I care for them
My four sisters and a plethora of memories
Friends who listen
Cheerful music of any kind
Cool water, hot feet and Shannon Creek
The ways Pennsylvania hills seem to green up all at once
Colorado aspen trees shimmering in a golden dance
The cricket song in the evenings
Huge impressive boulders reminding me of hope in You
Chicken and Grandma’s Noodles, steak and baked potatoes
Cheesecake and blueberries, Kathy’s lasagna
Corn on the cob, snow peas and freshly-picked tomatoes
My laptop, the internet and Facebook friends
Watching words become something unique
Scrabble, Canasta and crocheting
Hiking, swimming and kayaking
Roller skating, tennis and basketball
Good movies like Life is Beautiful, Fly Away Home Kuch Kuch Hota Hei
Favorite Books like Chronicles of Narnia, The Secret Garden, Monster, Perfect Strangers
Singing, Worshipping, and Dancing
All the wonderful colors that paint my soul
Thank You Lord for all the people and things I love and enjoy

60/100 Poetic Bloomings favorite food

Country Meal

Turkey, quail, pheasant,
venison, rabbit or even squirrel from our woods,
or trout from the creek just past Pappap’s
as the main dish.

Potatoes, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, onions,
cucumbers, green beans, yellow squash
from our garden as the sides.

Elderberries, grapes, Siberian crabapples,
rhubarb, blueberries and blackberries,
walnuts, hickory and hazel nuts
picked right out of our yard to make
homemade jams and jellies,
cookies, cobblers and pies for dessert.

Nothing like a fresh country meal.

Flavorful food all around

Spend wisely

Comfort Food

Let’s hear it for comfort food
The better it is, the faster it’s chewed

Loaded with sugar, deliciously sweet
Fills the bill when you earn a treat

Satiny caramels, sweet and chewy
Ice cream and toppings, thick and gooey

Peanut brittle, thick and crunchy
Potato chips, light and munchy

Puddings and cakes , extremely yummy
Chocolate chip cookies fill the tummy

Strawberry pie, gotta try it
For tomorrow begins the diet

Enchanted

I do not make no bake
chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies,
because they are like the White Witch’s
Turkish Delight from Narnia,
so enchanted, you’d eat yourself into oblivion.
So I do not make no bake
chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies.
I may have gained a pound just thinking about them.

56/100 Poetic Bloomings triquatrain and Poetic Aisdes appointment

Writing Day

My computer’s  calling, I feel like bawling
I’d like to go on a trip
To stick to my vocation, I need some motivation
This  day, I’d like to skip

The stories need writing, should be exciting
But I just want to play
My readers are waiting, anticipating
Or maybe stay in bed all day

I’ll stick these words together, though they could sound better
My hubby’s soon coming home
What did you write today, he will probably say
Well, at least, I wrote a poem

55/100

Jesus didn’t come to condemn,

but to save.

It is not mine to judge,

but to love.

The Holy Spirit convicts,

I don’t.

So Lord, help me love

and not try to take over

 the Holy Spirit’s job.
